A New Chapter for Norrie Waite & Slater as the Firm Becomes Employee Owned

A proud history. A shared future.

Norrie Waite & Slater Solicitors is delighted to announce an exciting new chapter in the firm's history, following its transition to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

Having built a longstanding reputation for providing trusted legal advice to individuals, families and businesses across South Yorkshire, the firm is now looking to the future with a new ownership structure that places its people at the heart of its continued success.

Building on Our Heritage

For more than 50 years, Norrie Waite & Slater has been a familiar and trusted name within the local community, supporting generations of clients through some of life's most important moments.

From buying a first home or navigating family changes to planning for the future or seeking criminal defence advice, the firm's reputation has been built on the knowledge, dedication and professionalism of its people.

The move to employee ownership forms part of the firm's long-term succession planning, helping to protect its independence, preserve its values and create a sustainable future for generations to come.

What Does Employee Ownership Mean?

An Employee Ownership Trust is a structure through which a business is owned collectively for the benefit of its employees, with shares held by trustees on their behalf.

For Norrie Waite & Slater, the transition represents a commitment to recognising the contribution of the people who have helped shape the firm and ensuring they have a meaningful stake in its future.

Importantly, the firm's commitment to its clients remains unchanged.

Clients can continue to expect the same professional, approachable and trusted legal services from the teams they know, across the firm's offices in Sheffield, Rotherham and Killamarsh.

Celebrating a New Appointment – Sherryl Kirk

Alongside this exciting transition, the firm is also delighted to announce the appointment of Sherryl Kirk as Director.

Sherryl's journey with Norrie Waite & Slater is a wonderful example of career development and dedication. Having joined the firm over 20 years ago as a Junior Cashier, she has progressed through the business to become Practice Manager and now Director.

Looking Ahead Together

The move to employee ownership is about more than a change in business structure. It represents an opportunity to build on the firm's achievements, encourage collaboration and create a sustainable future for Norrie Waite & Slater.

With strong local roots, experienced legal teams and a continued commitment to the communities it serves, the firm looks forward to this exciting next chapter.

The same trusted name. The same commitment to our clients. An exciting new future, together.
