Practical Steps To Take If You've Been Injured

Injury Awareness Week – 23-29 June 2025

Injury Awareness Week is an awareness campaign focussing on personal injuries.  It is aimed to highlight how accidents occur and how they can be prevented and how they are dealt with legally.

The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) are leading the campaign and we are proud to support the campaign here at Norrie Waite & Slater.

Throughout the week there will be informative events and educational resources promoting better understanding of personal injury law.

Personal Injury can affect anyone at any time and can have a lasting impact on people’s lives with some people suffering debilitating injuries in severe cases. The week will focus on combatting stereotypes, promoting safety and reinforcing how important it is for access to justice.

You can get involved:

You can support and participate in Injury Awareness Week in the following ways:

*Attending Apil-led webinars and events to learn more about personal injury issues and legal protections.

*Share articles and social media posts to raise awareness

*Talk about safety issues and how this affects all aspects of our lives, at work, on highways and in public spaces.

It is important to raise awareness of the need for protection and health and safety for the prevention of injuries and to highlight that fair treatment is needed for all and to promote how such injuries can be prevented.

At Norrie Waite & Slater we realise the importance of offering legal advice and support to get you the help and support that you need following an accident and to obtain justice on your behalf.  We offer a “No Win No Fee” funding arrangement which allows you to access the help and advice that you need without any upfront or hidden costs.

Practical Steps To Take If You've Been Injured:

*Seek medical attention as soon as possible – your health comes first.

*Report the incident (e.g. to your employer, the police, or premises owner).

*Gather evidence – photographs, witness contact details, medical records.

*Keep a record of how the injury has affected your daily life and income and keep receipts for any out-of-pocket expenses that you pay for such as prescriptions/over counter medication and travel costs to see medical professionals.

*Speak to a personal injury legal expert early for tailored advice.

If you have had an accident either at work, in a Road Traffic Accident or had a trip or slip in a public place then contact Sarah Tagg of our offices today to discuss how we can help you.  We also specialise in Industrial Diseases and Criminal Injuries Compensation Claims.  Call Sarah today on 0114 276 6166.
