For the majority of bikers there is no greater feeling than that moment when you have a sense of freedom whilst riding your motorbike down those winding roads with the wind blowing past you. Unfortunately, whether you are a highly experienced rider or a beginner, there is no escaping the fact that bikers face greater dangers on the roads than the average driver and accidents do happen. The usual response from those drivers causing an accident is SMIDSY – “Sorry Mate – I didn’t see you”.
If you have been injured in a biking or triking accident that was not your fault then you may be entitled to claim compensation for your injuries and any financial losses you have suffered as a result of that accident. Alternatively, if a loved one has suffered a fatality as a result of a biking accident that was not their fault, and was a main provider, then those dependent on him or her may also be able to claim compensation.
The amount of compensation you may be entitled to claim will depend on the severity of your injuries, the amount of pain you experience, the length of time it takes you to recover and future prognosis i.e. whether you are left with a future disadvantage on the open labour market or permanent disability. All these factors are dealt with by obtaining a copy of your medical records and obtaining an independent medical report from a suitable medical expert at the appropriate time during your claim.
If the independent medical expert makes recommendations for further treatment or investigations to be carried out we will make sure those recommendations are put into place on your behalf.
