Doctors incentivised to diagnose Demtentia and Alzheimer's
NHS England has announced that GPs are to be paid £55 for each diagnosis of dementia. The effects of dementia can be devastating for sufferers and their families.
It is estimated by the Alzheimer's Society that one in 14 people over 65 have dementia and that by 2015 850,000 people will suffer from dementia.
If an individual suffers from dementia and has not signed a lasting power of attorney their family or friend may have to undertake the time consuming and expensive process of applying to the Court of Protection to access their money and property.
