Norrie Waite & Slater appoints new Personal Injury Lawyer
Norrie Waite and Slater has strengthened its Personal Injury department with the appointment of Odette Tovey, a Litigation Executive, to its team.
Odette was born in St Helier, Jersey and after a spell in the UK she spent her childhood years in Paraguay. Odette said “living in rural South America life was very different. Many of the comforts we are used to here were simply not available but that did not mean that life was not a lot of fun”
She returned to live in the south of England when she grew up and where she worked for many years in sales and marketing which she says has given her a real advantage in terms of dealing with clients by telephone or in person. “In sales, you need to adopt a friendly approachable manner, you need to communicate clearly to people in plain English, and to be focused on providing a first class service making them feel at ease. Those are skills that I still use every day when dealing with our clients” said Odette.
Odette moved to Yorkshire from Bracknell with her teenage daughter in 2009 and was immediately struck by the warm welcome she received here. She has now made South Yorkshire her home and enjoys being part of the legal community in Sheffield.
Sherryl Kirk, Practice Manager at Norrie Waite and Slater said “Odette has built up an enviable reputation for her experience in dealing with road traffic accidents, accidents at work, trips, slips and falls, product liability, criminal Injuries and with particular experience of dealing with work related stress and child abuse claims, two particularly difficult areas of practice. We are delighted to welcome her to our team”.
Odette has successfully achieved compensation for many accident victims including cases which had previously been rejected by other firms of Solicitors and is also a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and the Association of Child Abuse lawyers.
In her spare time Odette enjoys gardening, baking, visiting historic buildings and countryside walks.
