The The child care team consists of Mark Breislin, Sarah Ewbank and Stella Milborrow. We deal with all aspects of child protection cases where social services become involved with a child because they consider the child is at risk of some form of harm, or where the local authority take matters further and seek to obtain orders in respect of the child through court proceedings, commonly known as care proceedings.
We are happy to represent parents or other relatives who find themselves involved in this sort of case and can provide either general advice or representation at court. We can also deal with cases that involve the law relating to adoption.
Mark Breislin qualified as a solicitor in 1980 and has worked on court cases involving children since 1984. In 1988 he became a member of the Law Society Children Panel. This is a specialist Panel set up by the Law Society of England and Wales and membership requires that the solicitor specialises in this area of law and keeps himself up to date with relevant legal developments. Mr Breislin has been a member of the Children Panel continuously since 1988 and therefore has well over 20 years experience in this area.
During this time he has conducted many, many cases in the Magistrates Court and the County Court for his clients.
